This hands-on training is designed for licensed massage therapists and bodyworkers who want to confidently and safely support clients during pregnancy through therapeutic bodywork. This training focuses on external therapeutic bodywork and safe massage techniques during pregnancy. Pregnancy is a time of profound physical and emotional transformation. As the body adapts to support a growing baby, many pregnant people experience common discomforts such as low back pain, hip tension, swelling, fatigue, and changes in posture and circulation. Prenatal massage can provide meaningful relief while also offering a nurturing space for rest, relaxation, and connection with the body during this important stage of life. In this training, practitioners will learn how to adapt their massage techniques to safely and effectively work with pregnant clients. Students will be guided through positioning strategies, supportive bolstering techniques, and bodywork approaches that prioritize comfort, safety, and proper body mechanics for both the client and practitioner. Participants will also explore how pregnancy changes the musculoskeletal and circulatory systems, and how massage can help support the body through these changes. Emphasis will be placed on safety considerations, contraindications, and clear client communication when working with prenatal clients. Students will learn: • Physiological and musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy • Safe positioning and bolstering techniques for prenatal clients • A step-by-step prenatal massage sequence • Techniques to address common pregnancy discomforts such as low back pain, hip tension, and swelling • Body mechanics and adjustments for working comfortably with pregnant clients • Contraindications and safety considerations during pregnancy • Intake and communication strategies when working with prenatal clients This training is intended for licensed massage therapists and experienced bodyworkers who want to expand their practice to include prenatal care.
