In person Friday, May 15 | 9:00AM - 11:00AM
Descripción del servicio
This hands-on training is designed for licensed massage therapists and bodyworkers who want to confidently incorporate abdominal massage into their professional practice to support digestion, circulation, and overall core health. This training is open to doulas and birth workers. Techniques taught are intended for supportive, non-clinical use and must be practiced within the individual’s scope of practice. The abdomen plays a central role in many of the body’s systems, including digestion, lymphatic flow, and nervous system regulation. However, it is often an under-addressed area in traditional bodywork. Gentle, intentional abdominal massage can help release tension within the muscles and fascia, support organ mobility, and encourage improved circulation throughout the abdominal region. In this training, practitioners will be guided through a step-by-step sequence that focuses on the abdominal muscles and surrounding tissues to help reduce tension, improve mobility, and support overall well-being. Participants will learn: • Relevant anatomy and kinesiology of the abdomen • The relationship between the abdomen and nervous system regulation • A step-by-step abdominal massage sequence • Techniques to release tension in the abdominal muscles and fascia • How to support circulation and lymphatic movement within the abdomen • Safe touch, pressure, and pacing when working with the abdominal region • Contraindications and safety considerations • Intake and client communication for abdominal-focused sessions Practitioners will leave this training with practical tools they can begin integrating immediately into their sessions to support clients experiencing tension, discomfort, and imbalance within the abdominal region.
